Trailblazing Women: Founder’s Inspiration

What Makes Us Trailblazers?

Is it our genes, upbringing or lifestyle? Growing up in a family of 6 women, there was a lot of estrogen floating about. We grew up not knowing how this hormone was going to shape us, our personalities, our endurance, our loves, our hates and our fates. My mother being the power figure, is an inspiration as we emulate to be like her, life giver, resilient, creative, strong, kind, our advocate, fierce and supportive. It made me wonder how one woman can be so many things, face adversities and stay sane at the same time.

As I grew older realization dawned that, being the force that gives life, a woman is engineered by nature to be this powerhouse and source of energy. I found women with certain qualities gives them transformational ability to be trailblazers and push the boundaries of expectation.

This International Women’s Day, let us celebrate the power of a woman.

Trailblazing women possess a unique blend of what enables them to break barriers, inspire others, and drive positive change. These women are found in our everyday life, like that woman begging on the street to the one in the high-powered boardrooms.

I feel the below sums up what a trailblazer is for me:

Courageous: Trailblazing women are fearless in the face of adversity. They have the courage to challenge the status quo, speak up for what they believe in, and pursue their goals despite obstacles. Contrary to belief everyone is not born with this, and many women have had to cultivate it. It can take time and support, but every woman is capable of this.
Visionary: They have a clear vision of what they want to achieve and are committed to making it a reality. They can see beyond the constraints of the present and envision a better future for themselves and others. Again, it is not everyone’s forte, but those that have it have the ability to bring transformational change.
Resilient: Trailblazing women bounce back from setbacks and failures with resilience and determination. They view challenges as opportunities for growth and learning, and they refuse to be discouraged by obstacles along the way. I have yet to meet a women who is not this.
Passionate: They are deeply passionate about their causes and beliefs, driving them to work tirelessly towards their goals. Their passion fuels their determination and inspires others to join them in their endeavours.
Empathetic: Trailblazing women have a strong sense of empathy and compassion for others. They understand the struggles and challenges faced by those around them and use their platform to advocate for positive change and uplift those in need.
Innovative: They are creative and innovative thinkers who are not afraid to think outside the box. They are constantly seeking new ways to approach problems and challenges, leading to groundbreaking solutions and advancements.
Collaborative: While they may be trailblazers in their own right, they also recognize the power of collaboration and teamwork. They actively seek out opportunities to collaborate with others who share their vision and values, recognizing that collective action can create greater impact. Being the theme for women’s empowerment this month, inspiring inclusion all the way is the only way our collective strength is felt.
Authentic: Trailblazing women stay true to themselves and their values, even in the face of criticism or opposition. They are authentic leaders who lead by example and inspire others through their integrity and sincerity.
Because I know each one of you has one or more of these qualities, you are my inspiration.
